[Present Indicative] Controlo mis gastos para llegar a fin de mes. → I control my expenses to make it to the end of the month.

[Imperfect Indicative] Ella siempre controlaba a sus hijos por teléfono. → She always used to check on (control) her children by phone.
[Pluperfect Indicative] Ya habíamos controlado la fuga antes de que fuera tarde. → We had already controlled the leak before it was too late.
[Preterite] El domador controló al león con mucha pericia. → The tamer controlled the lion with great skill.
[Preterite Anterior] En cuanto hubo controlado el incendio, descansó. → As soon as he had controlled the fire, he rested.
[Future] Este software controlará todos los accesos al edificio. → This software will control all access to the building.
