[Present Indicative] El fuerte viento azota las ventanas de la casa. → The strong wind lashes the windows of the house.
[Imperfect Indicative] Las olas azotaban el acantilado con violencia. → The waves used to lash the cliff with violence.
[Pluperfect Indicative] Ya habían azotado al prisionero antes de interrogarlo. → They had already whipped the prisoner before questioning him.
[Preterite] El látigo azotó la espalda del criminal. → The whip lashed the criminal's back.
[Preterite Anterior] Apenas hubo azotado la puerta, se rompió el cristal. → As soon as the door slammed (was lashed), the glass broke.
