Usage Examples
[Present Indicative] Tardo veinte minutos en llegar al trabajo. → It takes me twenty minutes to get to work.
[Present Perfect] El paquete ha tardado una semana en llegar. → The package has taken a week to arrive.
[Imperfect Indicative] Ella siempre tardaba mucho en arreglarse. → She always used to take a long time to get ready.
[Pluperfect Indicative] Ya habían tardado bastante en contestar el correo. → They had already taken quite a while to answer the email.
[Preterite] El tren tardó más de lo previsto. → The train took longer than expected.
[Preterite Anterior] Apenas hubo tardado un segundo en decidirse. → He had barely taken a second to decide.
[Future] No tardaré mucho, te lo prometo. → I won't be long, I promise you.
[Future Perfect] Para cuando llegues, ya habrán tardado demasiado. → By the time you arrive, they will have already taken too long.
[Conditional] ¿Cuánto tardarías en terminar el informe? → How long would it take you to finish the report?
[Conditional Perfect] No habrías tardado tanto si hubieras usado el GPS. → You wouldn't have taken so long if you had used the GPS.
