[Present Indicative] Atravieso el parque para llegar a casa. → I cross the park to get home.
[Present Perfect] El país ha atravesado una crisis económica. → The country has gone through (crossed) an economic crisis.
[Imperfect Indicative] Ella atravesaba el río a nado cada verano. → She used to swim across (cross) the river every summer.
[Pluperfect Indicative] Ya habíamos atravesado la frontera cuando nos detuvieron. → We had already crossed the border when they stopped us.
