[Present Indicative] Este libro cuesta veinte euros. → This book costs twenty euros.
[Present Perfect] Me ha costado mucho trabajo terminar el proyecto. → It has cost me a lot of work to finish the project.
[Imperfect Indicative] Antes la vida costaba menos. → Life used to cost less before.
[Pluperfect Indicative] Ya había costado una fortuna antes de las reparaciones. → It had already cost a fortune before the repairs.
[Preterite] La entrada me costó diez dólares. → The ticket cost me ten dollars.
[Preterite Anterior] Apenas hubo costado esfuerzo, lo abandonó. → As soon as it required effort, he abandoned it.
